Here’s How
The forgiveness which Jesus bought for us at the cross doesn’t come to us automatically. We have to choose it. We can’t earn it by what we do, but we can accept it by faith (Ephesians 2:8). Here’s how:
* Acknowledge that you’re a sinner and need God.
* Repent of your sins – be genuinely sorry for them (not just sorry that you got caught) and willing to
allow God to help you to turn away from them. But I’m not a sinner.
*Believe that Jesus died for you, personally. Not just for mankind as a whole, but for you.
*Ask Him to forgive and cleanse you.
*Receive that forgiveness and cleansing – take it from Him and accept it.
* Surrender your life to Him, not just as your Savior but as your Lord.
Pray a simple, sincere prayer in your own words which covers these points. You don’t need to use fancy words. If you do this from your heart, you will be forgiven of all your sins and the Holy Spirit will come to live within you, to help you to live as God wants you to.
